The Empire of Brazil (Brazilian Portuguese: Império do Brasil), colloquially known as just Brazil (Brazilian Portuguese: Brasil) is a Discord-based mock-government derived from its real-life Brazilian counterpart which existed between 1822 and 1889. Widely recognized as one of the most influential and powerful South American mock governments, and the largest Brazilian one, the original Brazil would reach a peak of 615 members in late May 2023.
The original Brazil server was created in 2023, however it was deleted by Discord on June 5, 2023, before being revived by Pedro and Dinko (owner of the Kingdom of Croatia) on August 6, 2024.
Founding and early days
Then 14-year-old Pedro would create the Empire of Brazil on February 10, 2023. Initially the server didn't grow fast but was able to reach 100 members within a week, on February 17th, one of Pedro's fastest growth records. Prominent early staff members included Bruno, a Brazilian from Mato Grosso do Sul, Sandi Shores, and Darcola, a Brazilian communist who would become dissatisfied with the server and leave a few weeks later.
Contact with Sceplicur and Germany
On February 19, 2023, Pedro and Brazil would come into contact with Sceplicur, also known as Wilhelm, after joining his German Empire. The two would soon start collaborating with each other, with Sceplicur feeding Pedro much advice on how to run a server.
Pedro's 15th birthday celebrations
Pedro turned 15 years old on February 24, 2023. There were massive celebrations throughout Brazil.
Reaching 200 and March 3rd Coup Attempt
After Pedro turned 15, Brazil's growth started becoming exponential. Contact and friendships with various influential people in mock gov, including Sceplicur and Jak, helped Brazil. Brazil would reach 200 on February 27th or 28th, just 17 or 18 days after opening. However not all was well for Brazil. On the morning of March 3, 2023, a communist politician attempted a larp revolt, which was quickly quashed by the admin staff. This sent a message to all Brazilian communists, including Darcola, who would end up leaving the server due to the execution of the revolutionary.
Reaching 300, beginning of Pedro II's Emperorship and gaining influence
Pedro becomes Pedro II of Brazil
Pedro was crowned Emperor of Brazil the following day, March 4th, having convinced Pedro I (his predecessor) to give him the throne for the sake of the nation. He was crowned Pedro II of the Empire of Brazil, swearing to lead Brazil effectively and courageously, whatever the cost.
Early days of Pedro II's reign
Pedro would prove to be an extremely effective leader, and is often considered by modern mock-gov historians to be Brazil's strongest and most effective Emperor, only to rivaled by Darta. Brazil would reach 300 members not long after Pedro was made Emperor, with growth slowing down after and 400 would not be reached until early April. Around this time, Unknown User and Kolumbuz (a Brazilian nationalist from Rio de Janeiro) joined the staff team. Kolumbuz was noted for his activity and his ability to attract other Brazilians into the server. Unknown User was noted for being similar, helping especially with activity. Both staff members were able to rise the ranks very quickly, due to Pedro II's caring and giving nature while Emperor.
Co-founding and joining the Central Powers (Sceplicur's)
Brazil and the German Empire had never been at odds, but were very close. The two leaders, Pedro and Sceplicur, could be considered as true brothers in the mock gov sense. They shared very similar values and ideas and plans for mock gov, so it was no surprise that Brazil and Germany, along with Jak's German Empire and a few other servers, co-founded the Central Powers sometime in late March 2023. The idea of the alliance was to become the supreme driving force of mock government, but one country was getting in the way of this: France.
The French issue
France had always been sort of "iffy" on the issue of Germany and the revived Central Powers. France and Germany had been rivals since late 2020, when Agent, then a friend of Dieudonne and France's original Duke of Orleans, separated from France to create the German Empire. Since then, Agent had left and leadership had been passed to Sceplicur (then known as Wilhelm) and his right-hand-man Apfel. This trend of tensions between France and Germany continued until early 2024. However it began to flare up in March/April 2023 with the rise of Sceplicur once more.
Tensions rise with France
Tensions began rising with the Kingdom of France in late March 2023 with agents of French trying to pull away high officials and royals in Germany and "make them French". This led to the high command of the Central Powers creating their own France, which was able to attain 250 members and at one point was more active than Dieudonne's France.
German-French War of 2023
The tensions between the Central Powers and France would eventually escalate into France jailing or "detroiting" German diplomats, which would further balloon into a war by April 8th. As the German high command was already fairly "washed" by this point (having ran the server for 2 months). The war commenced with a couple attempts to toxx France (for example by getting all members of the Central Powers High Command/German High Command to report all instances of the word "Jew" in the server). Aside from the toxx attempts by Germany, the war was mostly limited to France trying to get people not to boost Germany (a tactic which successfully prevented Germany from reaching 14 boosts or Level 3). Along with the boosting, the only other major things that occurred were the propaganda campaigns by both sides to pull mock govs into the war on their respective sides.
Falling apart of the Entente/French sphere in mock gov
Prior to the war, while Dieudonne had been attempting to turn German officials into French ones, Germany and the Central Powers, including Brazil, had been working on destroying France's puppet and ally sphere in the community. This would prove to excellent effect when the war began, as Leon's USSR would cancel the non-aggression pacts with Germany AND France. Germany would also be able to bully Wellington's UK into neutrality.
Luden's Hungary debaucle
Luden's Hungary was a mock gov created in late March of 2023 and was always pretty close to France before the war, with the two even allying. After the war began Sceplicur sought to destroy the French sphere as mentioned above, Pedro attempted to woo Luden to join the Central Powers. Luden was resistant at first, but upon discovering a conspiracy where the Queen of Hungary was working with Dieudonne to keep Hungary aligned with France, Luden angrily tore down his alliance with France and joined the Central Powers, declaring war on France. However Dieudonne would later bully Luden into leaving the Central Powers and declare neutrality with Luden claiming it was "unfit for us Magyar gentlemen". Although Luden was no longer on the side of the Central Powers, he had been successfully removed from the French sphere by Pedro and Sceplicur.
Brazilian involvement in the war
Not much is remembered on Brazilian involvement and actions, but Pedro did play an active part in destroying the French sphere with Sceplicur. At the end of the war however Sceplicur decided to nuke Germany which de facto decided the war with France, although their prestige had been reduced to nothing and their sphere was all but ash. After the nuking of Germany Sceplicur passed command of the Central Powers to Pedro and Brazil, and left mock gov. Pedro would decide that the war could not continue without the loss of Sceplicur and the most powerful member Germany, which was met with harsh hostility and disapproval from the "war hawk" section of the Central Powers, although Pedro would ignore it and declare the "surrender" of the Central Powers to France and her remaining allies.
Post-war Brazil, 500 members, Veyron affair
After the collapse of the Central Powers and the nuking of Germany, Pedro and Brazil were left, for the better part, ally-less. The post-war period and the treaty signed with France ruined Brazil's activity. Nevertheless Pedro continued to work on it, with it reaching 500 members sometime in early May 2023.
The Veyron affair
Veyron had been associated with Brazil since at least March 2023. However after the war, sometime in May, Veyron expressed a desire to regain control of the old server Sceplicur had created, currently in the hands of Leon of the USSR. Sceplicur gave the server to him after the nuking, who had turned it into a Soviet puppet state which began quickly losing members. After helping Veyron to get his Islamic server to 200 members the server was passed to Germany, who with Unknown User began growing the server from 600 back to 715 members.
The Jak-Veyron War
One person at odds with Veyron over how he acted was Jak. And although not much is remembered about this time, but what mock-gov historians do remember is that Jak and Veyron ended up in a war which resulted in Germany getting nuked by Jak and Grey, who was helping Jak with his Austria-Hungary.
600 members, decline and fall
By late May 2023, Pedro had honestly gotten really bored of running Brazil for nearly 4 months. Around May 25th, Pedro would depart from running Brazil actively, pass the Emperorship to Kolumbuz who was crowned as Pedro IV (Pedro III [Sandi] attempted to nuke the server a few days prior). Pedro IV promised to govern as Pedro II had, although by this time Brazil was pretty much dead and all staff had given up working on it. At the time Pedro II resigned the Emperorship to Pedro IV, the server roughly had around 615 members.
Fall
Pedro would completely depart from Brazil's affairs on June 2, 2023, and pass ownership of the server to Pedro IV who turned it into a thug server (there was an idea to turn Brazil into a Prussian puppet state of Austria), but Pedro IV vehemently refused so Pedro gave up the server. Brazil came to an end on June 5, 2023 as the server was toxxed and deleted by Discord, resulting in Pedro losing his first account.
Hiatus (June 2023 - August 2024)
For 14 months between the summers of 2023 and 2024, Brazil was dead and no staff member or former emperor, was willing to remake it. Pedro would go on to eventually nuke Austria-Hungary with Sceplicur after not being given ownership despite it being promised, resulting in Jak returning and kicking Pedro's ass out of mock government for roughly a month. Pedro would fully return to mock govs in August 2023. He had many servers during this period, including a famous 410 member Yugoslavia. However things would change in Summer 2024.
Revival of Brazil (August 2024-present)
Brazil would be recreated as a server on August 6th, 2024, after Dinko's Croatia was limited and nuked by Dinko and Pedro's Bulgaria was nuked and massbanned by Karl Dietrich. Pedro, now 16 years old, and Dinko agreed to work together on a revival of something, and they chose to do Brazil. Dinko and Pedro had worked together before (on the aforementioned Yugoslavia). The server was made and opened on August 7th by Dinko and Pedro, beginning a new era and age for Brazil. The server was an instant hit and began growing fast, reaching 100 members on August 12th, just 5 days later. The current Emperor of Brazil is Pedro V, also known as 60% Natural Oil. Brazil's return coincided with the return of multiple major mock-govs and characters, including Sceplicur, Balteric, Konrad, Luden's Hungary, Sceplicur's Germany, and more. The server is currently very active, getting around 4,000 messages a day or more. The current high command of Brazil includes former Croatian heavyweights, such as Dinko, Sommo, Cyril, Darta, and more. The future seems bright for Brazil in the coming months.
Darta becomes Emperor
On August 13, Pedro V resigned the throne in order to work on Austria, which Soprano had just passed to him. The Prince Imperial, Darta, was crowned as Pedro VI. A 100 members special award was also given out to all people in the server before 100 members was reached.
The Brazilian-Tankrian War (4 Hour War)
On August 14 at 14:53 CET (05:53 PST), a war would break out between Tankria and Brazil. The two had been at odds, especially since the Brazilian and Tankrian high commands did not like each other and were always plotting against the other. To start, Emperor Pedro VI (Darta) would go to Tankria and cause a mass panic by saying the server had been mass reported and everyone should leave. This tactic was successful and got 10 people to leave in the span of 20 minutes. After this, TA and Brazilian forces would invade Tankria and Dinko would nuke, completing the operation. At 15:04 CET (06:04 PST), victory was declared, and the Brazilian high command celebrated.
1st Brazilian Legislative Elections
Proper elections were held in Brazil from August 14-15, 2024. The results are as follows:
Imperial Party - 41%, 5 seats Brazilian Integralist Action - 30%, 4 seats Communist Party of Brazil - 11%, 2 seats Liberal Party - 11%, 2 seats Forward - 7%, 2 seats
The outcome of the election was a coalition government formed by Dinko's Integralists and Luden's Imperialists, with Luden becoming prime minister and Dinko becoming deputy prime minister.
