The Republic of Calluris, commonly known as Calluris, is a Discord-based Mock Government with 3 states and a federal Government. It started off as a splinter state to the Republic of Discord, when it became a vassalized state of the latter. It broke off and declare full independence in 2022.
The Republic of Calluris was first founded in 2021 by Naturegamer03, who intended to use the server as a hobby project while activity was declining in the Republic of Discord. The server began as a parliamentary democratic republic, and was inactive for the majority of the First Republic.
Calluris was colonized by the Republic of Discord during then Prime Minister Biden's term as the second Prime Minister of the First Republic, with Mcl5 seizing server ownership. The First Republic would remain inactive until its end, when both server activity and membership spiked due to rising dissent within the Republic of Discord.
The Republic of Discord nuked the First Republic as a brief Discordian-Callurian war was fought for Callurian independence. This war also resulted in the nuking of the Second Republic after only a week of existence.
The Republic of Discord recognized the independence of the Republic of Calluris during the term of the first President of the Third Republic, President Richard Blumenthal. Constitutional reforms had occurred in the Second Republic that reformed the political system into a semi-presidential democratic republic. The conclusion of the Discordian-Callurian war for independence ushered in what most consider to be the golden age of the Republic of Calluris during the Third Republic.
The Third Republic
Richard Blumenthal was elected as the first President of the third Republic. He remained popular for the first week of his term, but became unpopular rapidly after a hostile Senate was elected during the midterm elections. Blumenthal would resign near the end of his term as a result of the hostility of the Senate towards his presidency.
A series of presidents would be elected that followed without much event until the election of Romulus as the 5th President of the 3rd Republic. Romulus would serve as a controversial President, claiming that rampant corruption existed within the government and needed to be quelled by any means.
Romulus would attempt to amend the constitution by making judges elected, but this amendment would be voted against by the Senate. Romulus also created a corruption committee to investigate political opponents and accuse them of corruption. The efforts of President Romulus to consolidate power resulted in a hostile Senate being elected during the midterms, which would ratify an amendment first creating the office of the Prime Minister to limit the powers of the President. After this constitutional amendment, the Callurian government system would remain mostly unchanged for the remainder of its history.
