The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) (Russian: Союз Советских Социалистических Республик) is a Discord-based mock government inspired by the historical USSR. Founded in 2020 by Comrade, it has managed to grow up to over 2500 members, making it one of the largest Mock Governments by population.

Early History of the Soviet Union (2020-2021)

Pre USSR Era - Circa January 2020 to Late August 2020

Months before the establishment of the Soviet Union, the founder, Comrade, joined a Call of Duty Mobile Clan, called TEAM_DEADEYE. This clan was led by Deadeye, with Comrade as the Vice Master of the clan and the enforcer of the clan server on Discord until his resignation in late August that year in hopes of creating his own clan, with the intent of allying with TEAM_DEADEYE.

Establishment of the USSR

After departing TEAM_DEADEYE, Comrade established his own clan, titled The_Bolsheviks, and with that, Comrade created the server, named the Soviet Union, on 8 September, 2020.

This clan; however, was not as successful as Comrade intended it to be, but it did leave Comrade a server to work with and promote as a community server themed as the Soviet Union.

During the 2020-21 Era

In the early days of the USSR, the only authority that existed was the KGB, the NKVD, Commissars and Leader of the Soviet Union, which evolved to Premier of the Soviet Union later on that year, there was no established Communist Party, Central Committee, Supreme Soviet, Council of Ministers, or any form of elections in this era, since at the time, the USSR was not a mock-gov.

On 10 February, 2021, Comrade discovered a mock-gov/community server called New Russia. After crossing the New Russian border, Comrade discovered the Moscow Pact, which was led by New Russia. The Soviet Union applied for membership and was granted pact membership and gained numerous allies, most notably with New Russia.

On 27 February, 2021, the Soviet Border Security was established, tasked with guarding the Soviet borders and granting newcomers entry if the requirements for entry was met.

A few days later, on the first of March, the Red Army was formally established, it did not have much use at the time it was established until the military reform of 2024.

Later in March that year, Comrade decided to change his name and profile to Joseph Stalin, which he is still referred to until this day, because of Comrade’s and Joesph Stalin's leadership style was very similar.

A few months later, on the 23rd of May, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union was formally established, appointing Joseph Stalin to be the General Secretary.

On 5 August of 2021, the Central Committee of the CPSU was formally established, the executive leadership of the Communist Party, and shortly after, the Secretariat, Orgburo, and Politburo was established.

On the 11th of November that year, the Supreme Soviet, the legislative arm of the USSR was formally established, tasked with representing each Union Republic within the Soviet Government.

Commemorative Days of 2021

On 22 March, 2021, the Soviet Union achieved a total of 69 members, which was a very comedic achievement according to the Stalin administration at the time.

On 4 April, 2021, the Soviet Union received its first boost, from HoloKnight, the most known former Deputy Premier of the USSR during the 2020-21 era.

A few weeks later, on 22 April, the USSR achieved a total of 100 members, just eighteen days after the first boost.

Just a few days after 100 members, the Soviet Union received its first ever Level 1 Boost, on 28 April, 2021.

In August that year, on the 23rd day, the USSR achieved 250 members, which was the greatest accomplishment of the year 2021.

Government of the Soviet Union

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is a one party federal republic, which utilizes the concept of Soviet Democracy and Democratic Centralism within the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The CPSU, as stated in Article 29 of the Constitution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, which says the “Communist Party of the Soviet Union is the vanguard of the working people in their struggle to strengthen and develop the socialist system and is the leading core of all organizations of the working people, both public and state.” Any and all elected officials in the USSR are required by Soviet Law to be affiliated with and endorsed by the Communist Party.

The Central Committee is the executive leadership of the Communist Party, and is tasked primarily with approving or ratifying treaties, approving universal military service, and nominating and electing officials. Additionally, there are two organs of the Central Committee, one being the Secretariat, which is tasked with the day to day operations of the Communist Party, and the other being the Political Bureau, commonly referred as the Politburo, which is the highest policy making authorities within the CPSU and is tasked with party administration.

The USSR has two main branches of government, the legislative arm which is comprised of the Supreme Soviet, and the executive arm which is comprised of the Council of Ministers. The Supreme Soviet is elected by the citizens of the USSR on the basis of one deputy for each Union Republic, plus an additional one for the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, or the RSFSR. The Ministers are either appointed by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, commonly referred as the Premier, out of each of the respective ministries, or nominated and elected out of the Central Committee.
